Recap: Copper Canyon Aztecs vs. Glendale Cardinals
The Copper Canyon Aztecs's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 38-22 win over Glendale. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Copper Canyon also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Copper Canyon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bri'ann Felix out in front who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Felix has scored at least a third of Copper Canyon's points. Zalaya Dupre was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Copper Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Glendale, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Copper Canyon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dobson at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Dobson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Copper Canyon likes a good challenge. Glendale won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Independence at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Independence is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
