Recap: Fort Morgan Mustangs vs. Holy Family Tigers
The Fort Morgan Mustangs had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They were dealt a 49-7 defeat at the hands of Holy Family. Fort Morgan was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Jj Marquez threw for 188 yards and a touchdown. Angel Lopez was his top target, picking up 102 receiving yards. On the ground, Samson Ortega rushed for 63 yards.
Rylan Cooney had an outrageously good game for Holy Family as he threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in three touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Monte Samaras, who picked up 197 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fort Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Holy Family, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Fort Morgan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holy Family is also done with their season.
