Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Citrus' Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Citrus's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 7-3 to the Springstead Eagles. If the Hurricanes were looking for revenge after losing 7-2 to the Eagles when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tristan Beck was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Citrus: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-4 otherwise.

Beck wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cade Arnold, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Citrus' loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Springstead, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Citrus will be playing at home against Trinity Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springstead, they will venture away from home to face off against Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
