Recap: Aquinas Falcons vs. Ontario Christian Knights
The Aquinas Falcons had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against Ontario Christian by a score of 51-40. That's another feather in the cap for Aquinas, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Daniel Wol was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 19 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bol Dhieu, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Ontario Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alex Yang. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. Cole Jones was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Aquinas has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Ontario Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.
Aquinas will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Woodcrest Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. The timing isn't great for Woodcrest Christian: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Aquinas has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Ontario Christian will take on Arrowhead Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Arrowhead Christian is ranked 262nd, while Ontario Christian is ranked 243rd).
