Basketball Game Preview: Whale Branch Warriors vs. Hardeeville Canes

The Whale Branch Warriors just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Hardeeville Canes at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Whale Branch and six for Hardeeville.

Whale Branch is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Beaufort by a score of 61-58.

Meanwhile, Hardeeville played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 82-28 defeat at the hands of Hampton County. While losing is never fun, the Canes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Hurricanes are ranked 112th).

Whale Branch now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Hardeeville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Whale Branch against Hardeeville when the teams last played last Tuesday, as the squad secured a 68-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whale Branch since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
