Suggested Video

Taylor had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-9 to make it six. They fell just short of the Allen Park Jaguars by a score of 5-4. If the Griffins were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chauncey Adkins was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Lucas Doute was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Allen Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games.

On Allen Park's side, Jack Labiak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. Labiak has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Reece Phillips was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Matelic, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

While Taylor had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
