Softball Recap: St. Mary's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

St. Mary had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 5-12 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats by a score of 11-7. The Rams' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Matea Muraoka was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maya Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, their record now sits at 7-7. They haven't had much luck with St. Mary's recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

On Ben Holt College Prep Academy's side, Julieann Drulias was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Drulias has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Adryana Young made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double. Janae Ignacio was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Mary's will square off against Lodi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flames have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, they will challenge Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
