Slade Schmitt posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over eight innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Schmitt and Lodi will take on Inderkum in a tournament on Monday. Sadly, Schmitt's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Flames' four-game streak of wins at home.
