Basketball Recap: Pierce Comes Up Short

Pierce lost against Aquinas back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pierce Bluejays received a blow as they fell 49-31 to the Aquinas Monarchs. The match marked the Bluejays' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Bryant Stouffer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Aquinas, shooting 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasen Lavicky, who posted eight points.

Pierce has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Aquinas, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pierce will welcome Lakeview on Tuesday. As for Aquinas, they will be playing at home against Twin River on Tuesday.
