Soccer Game Preview: South Lenoir vs. Pender + How To Watch

South Lenoir hasn't had much luck against Pender recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. South Lenoir has given up an average of 3.1 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

South Lenoir fell victim to Clinton and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 9-0 to the Dark Horses. While losing is never fun, South Lenoir can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 416th, while Clinton are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, Pender hadn't done well against Southwest Onslow recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Stallions with a sharp 4-1 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Pender considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Pender's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-10-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matches. As for South Lenoir, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11-2.
