Football Recap: Cesar Chavez Find Success + How To Watch

The Cesar Chavez Champions slipped by the Chandler Wolves 9-8 on Thursday.

Leading Cesar Chavez to victory were Malia Woodberry and Jessica Morgan. Woodberry picked up 124 receiving yards and one score, while Morgan threw for 138 yards and one TD. Woodberry was even better on defense, picking up two sacks and making nine total tackles.

Cesar Chavez didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Elizabeth Garcia and Jamiya Jones each grabbed an interception.

The victory got Cesar Chavez back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cesar Chavez will head out to challenge Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chandler, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Dobson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
