Soccer Game Preview: Murray vs. Layton Christian Academy

The Murray Spartans will take on the Layton Christian Academy Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Murray will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Layton Christian Academy better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Murray really gets things going. Murray was the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over Tooele on Friday. Jacob Riches was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Layton Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Farmington a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one goal.

Murray pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three matchups. As for Layton Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.
