Softball Recap: Holy Family Tigers vs. Niwot Cougars
With a playoff game on the line, Holy Family rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Niwot Cougars. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.
Isabella Arroyo and Jaelyn Sandoval made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Arroyo struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Sandoval pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Arroyo has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. At bat, Arroyo went 1-for-3 with a home run, while Sandoval went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs.
In other batting news, Holy Family let Giuliana Magnetti and Makaila Moosbrugger loose on the outfield.
