Volleyball Recap: Skyridge Falcons vs. Lone Peak Knights
Skyridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lone Peak Knights. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Knights when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Skyridge was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lone Peak work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 21-25, 26-24, 20-25, 15-13.
Marcus Reittinger paced Skyridge's offense, picking up 24 kills. Reittinger got some help from Devin Willits and his 44 assists. Finally, Reittinger was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
Skyridge's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Lone Peak, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Looking ahead, Skyridge is taking a road trip to square off against Pleasant Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lone Peak, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against American Fork on the 26th.
