Softball Recap: Chesapeake Cougars vs. Queen Anne's County Lions
After flying high against Northeast on Friday, Chesapeake came back down to earth. The Chesapeake Cougars fell 8-5 to the Queen Anne's County Lions on Saturday. Chesapeake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Queen Anne's County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Ava Cicchetti made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Strevig, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Having lost for the first time this season, Chesapeake fell to 2-1. As for Queen Anne's County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesapeake will take on Old Mill at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
