Soccer Game Preview: Trinity vs. Providence Grove

The Trinity Bulldogs will face off against the Providence Grove Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Trinity's offense. They fell just short of Uwharrie Charter Academy by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite a strong season so far, Providence Grove has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Central Davidson.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Providence Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Trinity came up short against Providence Grove when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Trinity avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
