Baseball Recap: Estill County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Estill County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Engineers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Dawson Moore tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Kooper Powell was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jax Niece, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Estill County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Owsley County, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

As for Owsley County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Red Bird at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
