Softball Recap: Golden Gate Comes Up Short

Golden Gate lost against Neumann on April 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Titans lost 16-5 to the Celtics. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alexa Pena and Junielda Joseph did some serious damage despite the final result: Pena went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs, while Joseph went 2-for-3 with one home run. Pena is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged four or more in each of the last three games she's played. Gracie Himmel was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Golden Gate's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Neumann, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Golden Gate will square off against Community School of Naples at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Neumann, they will face off against LaBelle at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cowboys/Cowgirls will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Celtics surely won't give up without a fight.
