Football Game Preview: West Babylon Eagles vs. Northport Tigers

The West Babylon Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Northport Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: West Babylon has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Northport will arrive with six straight wins.

On Friday, West Babylon took a blow against Smithtown East, falling 48-7.

Meanwhile, Northport posted their closest victory since October 5, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Huntington 16-14. Those 16 points were actually the fewest the Tigers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Northport's win came from a few key players West Babylon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Simon Blissett, who threw for 125 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 42 yards.

West Babylon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Northport, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

West Babylon came out on top in a nail-biter against Northport in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, sneaking past 23-21. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Tigers' Giancarlo Valenti, who rushed for 184 yards and two scores on only 13 carries.
