Hoke County scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Pauls Bulldogs. The Bucks just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Eric (EJ) Carter and Carson Hewitt stepped up to the plate in a big way. Carter scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5, while Hewitt scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave Hewitt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Spivey, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Hoke County's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for St. Pauls, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Hoke County has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Southern Lee on the 28th. As for St. Pauls, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against West Bladen on the 28th.
