Top 25 high school football rankings
How many Great Lakes teams are in this week's Top 25 high school football rankings?

Silos, smokestacks, steeples and stadium lights. The Great Lakes region is molded by its horizon. North Coast communities are defined - in part - by Friday nights.

Here's our latest look at the top prep football teams in a landscape that houses the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Lambeau Field, the Big Ten Conference, Notre Dame and several of the top high school programs in the history of the sport.

State champs, national acclaim, big-time talent. North Coast football is a force. So are the following teams from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Nazareth Academy (Ill.) - led by Michigan quarterback recruit J.J. McCarthy - picked up a Week 1 forfeit win from Cardinal Ritter (Ill.) last week. The Roadrunners are now 8-0.
