Basketball Recap: Glasgow Dragons vs. Elkton Golden Elks

On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Glasgow, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-28 loss to the Golden Elks. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Glasgow came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 53rd in Delaware, while the Golden Elks are ranked 225th in Maryland).

Leading Elkton to victory were LeeAnn Pugh and Jayla Payne. Pugh scored 16 points, while Payne scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Payne has scored all season.

Glasgow's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Elkton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season.
