Basketball Recap: Monett Comes Up Short

Monett lost against Neosho back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Monett Cubs fell 50-42 to the Neosho Wildcats. The Cubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Among those leading the charge was Zach Forsythe, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Kaiden Asberry was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven boards and six assists.

Monett now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Neosho, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monett will welcome Hollister at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Neosho, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
