Softball Game Preview: Skyline Eagles vs. Cedar Valley Aviators

For the second straight game, Skyline will face off against Cedar Valley. The Eagles will challenge the Aviators at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Skyline is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Skyline heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Saturday. They came up short against Cedar Valley, falling 15-5. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly ten runs.

For Cedar Valley's part, they got a great performance from Brenley Keele as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Takuilau Wolfgramm, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeslyn Collins, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Cedar Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyline only managed four hits.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Cedar Valley, their record now sits at 16-12.

Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Skyline has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it's not like Cedar Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
