Basketball Recap: Harding Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

It's playoff time, and Harding Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Manila Lions by a score of 58-49 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won three matches in a row.

Harding Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emery Wilson out in front who posted 17 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Claire Citty, who earned 16 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Wilson wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Harding Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Harding Academy's win bumped their record up to 26-3. As for Manila, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 16 games and leaves them with a 27-6 record.

Looking ahead, Harding Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lamar at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lamar will roll in looking for their 21st straight victory, something Harding Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Manila does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
