Basketball Recap: Upsala Drops Season-High Score on Browerville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Upsala). They walked away with a 75-64 win over the Browerville Tigers on Friday. The Cardinals' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Upsala's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eric Landowski led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Landowski a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Primus, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points along with eight assists and five boards.

Upsala was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Upsala now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Browerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Upsala Cardinals face off against the Ogilvie Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Upsala is facing Ogilvie at the right time seeing as Ogilvie is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Browerville, they will head out to challenge New York Mills at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
