Basketball Game Preview: Appleton West Terrors vs. Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts

Appleton West is 1-9 against Kaukauna since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Appleton West Terrors will venture away from home to face off against the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts at 7:30 p.m.

Appleton West is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Fond du Lac and fell 86-52. While losing is never fun, the Terrors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Cardinals are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Kaukauna had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Polar Bears by a score of 76-65.

Kaukauna has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.5 points per game. As for Appleton West, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Appleton West was taken down by Kaukauna 91-47 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Appleton West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
