Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Dragons vs. Anderson County Mavericks

The Clinton Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Anderson County Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Anderson County likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Clinton earned a 61-51 win over Gibbs.

Meanwhile, Anderson County came tearing into Monday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 85-42. The Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 23 points or more this season.

Anderson County has also been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Clinton, they pushed their record up to 15-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Clinton came up short against Anderson County in their previous matchup back in January, falling 71-61. Can Clinton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
