Frankenmuth had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their defense stepped up to hand the Imlay City Spartans a 5-0 shutout on Saturday. This was payback for Frankenmuth, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

This is the second loss in a row for Imlay City and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Frankenmuth didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 defeat against Berkley on the 16th. As for Imlay City, they will square off against Richmond at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The match will give Imlay City their first taste of in-conference action this season.
