Basketball Recap: Independent Takes a Loss

Independent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Hays Indians 76-22. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Indians are ranked 150th).

Independent's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hays, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Independent will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Emporia at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Hays, they will take on Concordia in a tournament on Thursday.
