Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Winters). They put the hurt on the Willows Honkers with a sharp 27-9 victory on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.
Raegan Hurst made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Josie Lundy was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Jayde Mathias was another key player, going 3-for-4 with eight RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs.
Winters kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.
