Baseball Game Preview: Capuchino Mustangs vs. Burlingame Panthers

The Capuchino Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Burlingame Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Capuchino is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Capuchino fell victim to Sacred Heart Prep and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators. The shutout was out of character for the Mustangs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Capuchino saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andres Gomez, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Burlingame also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Hillsdale by a score of 6-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nick Armstrong was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Grayson Howard was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Burlingame: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Jean-Luc Uharriet was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Burlingame now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Capuchino, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
