Basketball Game Preview: Mounds View Mustangs vs. Spring Lake Park Panthers

The Mounds View Mustangs will head out to square off against the Spring Lake Park Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Mounds View easily dispatched Hermantown on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Mounds View fell just short of Roseville by a score of 80-78 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (77), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Spring Lake Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They took down Osseo 67-52 on Friday.

Mounds View's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Spring Lake Park, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Mounds View was able to grind out a solid win over Spring Lake Park when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 74-64. Will Mounds View repeat their success, or does Spring Lake Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
