Recap: Briarwood Academy Buccaneers vs. Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers
The Briarwood Academy Buccaneers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-6 victory over Augusta Prep Day. The result was nothing new for Briarwood Academy, who have now won three matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Briarwood Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Poss led the charge by picking up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Briarwood Academy also got a significant boost from Charlie Mosley, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 146 yards.
Briarwood Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Augusta Prep Day, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Edmund Burke Academy the next time they take the field. Augusta Prep Day will head out to face Edmund Burke Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Briarwood Academy will host them at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd.
