The Delmarva Christian Royals just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Eastern Shore HomeSchool Mavericks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Eastern Shore HomeSchool will be up against a hot Delmarva Christian squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Delmarva Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Darius Liles out in front who posted 18 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Liles is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Light, who scored 15 points and six steals.
Meanwhile, Eastern Shore HomeSchool won against Calvary Christian Academy two weeks ago with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Eastern Shore HomeSchool blew past Holly Grove Christian 66-44. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Mavericks just coasted through the last quarter.
Delmarva Christian better focus on containing Eli Miller and Zach Miller as the pair were huge in Eastern Shore HomeSchool's win. Eli almost dropped a triple-double on 30 points, nine boards, and nine assists, while Zach went 6 of 11 en route to 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Braden Tawes, who earned eight points and three steals.
Eastern Shore HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.
Eastern Shore HomeSchool is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Delmarva Christian, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Delmarva Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Eastern Shore HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.4 boards.
