Volleyball Game Preview: Holyoke Dragons vs. Sedgwick County Cougars

Holyoke hasn't had much luck against Sedgwick County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Dragons will take on the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Holyoke is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 14 games.

On Friday, Holyoke made easy work of Yuma and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Holyoke was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Sedgwick County entered their match against Merino on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since September 13th.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 26-24, 25-15.

Sedgwick County's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Holyoke, their win bumped their record up to 18-2.

Holyoke might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Sedgwick County when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
