Basketball Recap: Adriene Collier's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Johnson over Hansberry

Johnson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 53-35 fall against the Hansberry Bengals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pumas of the 50-43 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Several Pumas players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adriene Collier, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Cye'Royal Crump, who put up six points.

Johnson's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hansberry, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Johnson will welcome Butler at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hansberry, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Urban Prep Academies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
