Grants is 9-1 against Gallup since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Bengals at 1:00 p.m. Grants' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Gallup's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Grants is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 25 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against St. Pius X on Friday. They fell just short of the Sartans by a score of 3-1. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Gallup didn't have quite enough to beat Kirtland Central on Thursday and fell 12-11.

Grants' defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Gallup, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Grants took their victory against Gallup in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
