Baseball Game Preview: Catonsville Comets vs. Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines

The Catonsville Comets will challenge the Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Catonsville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Catonsville will bounce into Friday's game after beating Dulaney, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Comets came out on top against the Lions by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Western Tech & Environmental Science hadn't done well against Pikesville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Wolverines blew past the Panthers 10-3.

Wesley Henry made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Western Tech & Environmental Science: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 2-5-1 otherwise. Henry was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, Christian Macer was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Western Tech & Environmental Science is 2-1 when Macer posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-5-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was JaJuan Pickett, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Catonsville now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Western Tech & Environmental Science, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6-1.
