Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chagrin Falls). Everything went their way against the Laurel Gators on Wednesday as they made off with a 22-6 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Mia Beavers made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Beavers was even better at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, six RBI, and three doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Gina Ponikvar was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Megan Shisila was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.
Chagrin Falls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Chagrin Falls' win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Laurel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
