Football Preview: Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays vs. River Valley Panthers        
        
		
             The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays will face off against the River Valley Panthers at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The timing isn't great for Conemaugh Valley: they have been struggling with eight straight losses at home dating back to last season, while River Valley has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road also dating back to last season.
 Conemaugh Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have all season. They took  a  20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Homer-Center.
 Despite the  loss, Conemaugh Valley had strong showings from  Ethan Mcnulty, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and  Eric Korhut, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown. Mcnulty's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.
 Conemaugh Valley wouldn't let Homer-Center keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Conemaugh Valley can thank  Zach Blair and  Anthony Morales for forcing both of them. Morales also set a new season high mark in  total tackles with nine.
 Meanwhile, River Valley took their  match at home  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  34-6 win over Purchase Line. Considering the Panthers have won four matchups by more than 24  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 River Valley's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Sam Yanits, who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Yanits is  on a roll when it comes to  rushing touchdowns, as he's  now  punched in two or more in the last five games he's  played dating back to last season.  Caden Vresilovic was another key player, picking up 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, River Valley was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 252  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 252  rushing yards in five consecutive  games.
 Conemaugh Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for River Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
 Conemaugh Valley was taken down by River Valley 61-14 when the teams last played  back in October of 2023. Thankfully for Conemaugh Valley,  Dom Speal (who picked up 119 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
