Preview: Frankton Eagles vs. Monroe Central Golden Bears
The Frankton Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Monroe Central Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Frankton is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Monroe Central in Indiana (Frankton is ranked 112th, while Monroe Central is ranked 276th).
On Tuesday, Frankton might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Wapahani an easy 50-25 win. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Frankton has scored all season.
Frankton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joey Wright, who scored nine points, and Brady Carmack who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Monroe Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 63-62 photo finish over Hagerstown. The win was just what Monroe Central needed coming off of a 57-32 defeat in their prior matchup.
Frankton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Monroe Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.
Frankton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Monroe Central in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 57-51 win. Does Frankton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monroe Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
