Baseball Recap: Wilson Area Comes Up Short

Wilson Area came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-7 to the Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since April 11th.

Wyatt Deemer put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Ryan Bonham made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Wilson Area: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

Wilson Area's record now sits at 8-11. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
