Basketball Game Preview: Indian Lake Lakers vs. North Union Wildcats

Indian Lake hasn't had much luck against North Union recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Indian Lake Lakers will be home for the holidays to greet the North Union Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Indian Lake is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Wednesday, Indian Lake was able to grind out a solid win over Shawnee, taking the game 50-40. Given the Lakers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the Braves are ranked 664th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Union). They blew past Northwestern 73-33 on Wednesday. With the Wildcats ahead 51-24 at the half, the game was all but over already.

North Union's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Indian Lake, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Indian Lake might still be hurting after the 61-40 defeat they got from North Union when the teams last played back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Indian Lake was down 35-15.
