Baseball Game Preview: Harrison Panthers vs. Mesa Ridge Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Harrison will face off against Mesa Ridge. The Panthers will take on the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harrison has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Harrison is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 12-1 to Mesa Ridge.

For Mesa Ridge's part, Gabriel Montijo made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Montijo has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Ozcar Walker and Zander Iwanski did most of the damage at the plate: Walker went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Iwanski went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Mesa Ridge is undefeated when Walker posts three or more RBI, but 3-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brandon Bittner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Mesa Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Mesa Ridge's record is now 6-10. As for Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
