Football Recap: Valiant Cross Academy Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Valiant Cross Academy's offense. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Southern Academy Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 54 points in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Valiant Cross Academy dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Southern Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Valiant Cross Academy will head out to challenge Lowndes Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels' defense has only allowed 11.5 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Southern Academy, they will take on Bessemer Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
