Basketball Recap: New Hanover Skates Past Millbrook with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but New Hanover had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed past Millbrook to the tune of 55-24. New Hanover has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Jazziyah Smith went supernova for New Hanover, going 10-for-11 to rack up 22 points and seven boards. Thanks to that strong game, Smith now owns an excellent 45.8% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Stanley, who posted ten points and four steals.

New Hanover was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millbrook only eight assists.

New Hanover's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.2 points. As for Millbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.

New Hanover will face off against Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richmond will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something New Hanover surely won't give up without a fight. Millbrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
