Softball Recap: Verdugo Hills Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Verdugo Hills was feeling good fresh off their 21-0 takedown of South Gate two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dons fell just short of the Chavez Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dons of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Verdugo Hills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madesyn Meadows, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Verdugo Hills' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4-1. As for Chavez, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Verdugo Hills is set to face off against their familiar foe Kennedy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Chavez will square off against rival Arleta at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
