Football Recap: Wood Lucky Dubreus' Menacing Defense Leads Northeast over Taravella

Northeast never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Taravella on Thursday. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 40-28. Things were looking grim for the Hurricanes in the first quarter (they were down by 21) but they stormed back to get the game.

Northeast didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Wood Lucky Dubreus, Brenton Jackson, and Tequarius Kyle picked up one apiece. Dubreus got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Defeat or not, Taravella got some senior leadership from Shane Thompson and Eddie James Jr.. Thompson threw for 339 yards and four TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes, while James Jr. picked up 175 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The win got Northeast back to even at 1-1.

Northeast didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-0 loss against Dillard on the 5th. As for Taravella, they have also already played their next matchup, a 23-6 victory against Pompano Beach on the 4th.
