Baseball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lakeland's offense. They came up short against the Holy Cross Crusaders on Wednesday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Chiefs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lakeland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Pochas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Pochas has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Holy Cross, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland will face off against Honesdale at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Holy Cross, they will square off against Riverside at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
